I have access 2 steers that are pretty nice and rolling good.  One is a Q-DOG and the other is a hairy hairy Frosty steer.  They are located adout 5 miles off 70 on the western side of Indiana.  We have a nice Heat Wave Heifer out of a Famous 7001 cow that was flush by Brad Simmermon.

I would say go for it and have fun that what its all about.  Not a great one but good place to start.  I would go for the rate of gain side of it that has its own sales where we show. 

We always added golden flo somehow in hay soaked oats or some how.  S & S feed has some cherry corn oil that is high in fat.  We always had luck with calves just killing that stuff in their feed.

U can buy flacked corn from them or crack corn at your local mill as a start.  A far as supplement they use 32% hubard i would use 34% baby beef from kent.  Kent is all plant protien.  Criped oats actually i think worked better and around here are cheaper.  As far as cutting it down ur local...

I tried it once and i broke the spider gears in the rear end and got the transfer case so that was the end of that.    It will never go down a dirt track with a sled i have been there done that before.
