mlc coverage of osf steer show

I am wondering that, too.  I am not even 100% sure what link to follow.

    Before and after

That's a really nice steer and a great clip job for a first-timer.  I would, however, clip his tail shorter.  Typically, the tail is clipped so that it is level with the bottom of the brisket.  That is usually about level with the hocks.

    dyeing a calf

If you find time away from correcting other people's grammar, then you should learn how to spell.  For starters, you could learn how to spell grammar.  Good luck!

    Clipping & Fitting DVDs?

The Guyer and Stierwalt clipping DVDs are fantastic.  If you have to choose one over the other, I would choose Guyer's.

Bidder fraud at Vicklands online sale?

I agree that the culprit should be made public for the protection of others.  On the bright side, for the Vickland family, this controversy has created a lot of free advertisement for their sale.  I hope that it works out for them in the end.

What exactly is the sound alarm useful for?  Would it catch a fan that is misbehaving?  Just a little confused.

Andis Super 2 Speed -- Toast?

My Andis Super 2 Speeds emitted smoke and a melting smell the last time that I used them.  Anyone know what might be going on here?  Are they worth fixing, or should I just purchase a new set?

I'm not an expert, but I made this image.  It might help you a bit.

    Need advice on clipper blades.

I use a 3115 Andis blade for the head, a 5/8" blade for the neck (usually), a medium blending blade for any point that is on the skin (e.g., brisket, dewlap, tail, between the front legs), and the T-84 blade for fading the butt into place.  For everything else, I use the super blocking blade. ...

    Guyer Videos anyone?

I've seen the Guyer clipping video, the selection video, and the daily care video.  They're just as good, if not better than, the Stierwalt videos.  The Guyer videos seems to give all of the same details that the Stierwalt videos, but the Guyer videos seem to have more depth and are more cutting...

    Cool Room Question

When I was showing, I had two calves per year, and I had a cool room measuring 12*14*9.  This is a great size for two calves but would be less than ideal for three.  Notice that the height of this cooler is 9 feet.  I highly recommend, at least, that height.  I have been in coolers that are only...

Does anyone know about this fitting clinic??

I have not heard of this, but I would be interested in attending. Additionally, Schneider Show Calves, I live in the Quad Cities and enjoy working with calves.  If you ever need any help, let me know.  Here's a copy of a post I wrote a while ago: Hello, I was raised on a 200 acre hobby farm...

Slicker Brush Poodle Card -- How do you use it?

Thanks for all your help so far.  I have two more questions though.  First, if you use a poodle card, does that mean you don't use a scotch comb at all?  Second, do you use the poodle card on all four legs or just the hind legs?

Slicker Brush Poodle Card -- How do you use it?

Sullivan Supply is advertising a "slicker brush poodle card."  Its ad states the following: "Great for finishing and separating cattle leg hair. Use as the final step after leg hair has been groomed with adhesive. The soft wires of the Poodle Card pluck the hair out and prevent the matted look...

A lot of folks on here have recommended combining Kleen Sheen and vinegar.  This might be a silly question, but what type of vinegar do people use?  Thanks.
