Hands down the most professional person that's posted on this post is the one that started it, Coleen Majors.   One statement , the truth, the facts to back them up.  Not lowering herself to the jawing.  Perhaps she should have the initials in front of her name.

the above is probably the least professional comment on this post.

both sides are actually trying to help each other.

this is not a personal issue.  it is a genetic defect.  we can make a test hopefully and we can use it to lower costs to develope animals from lines with a defect compared to sire daughter matings and the turnaround time is a lot shorter and everyone can use the test.

i see no reason not to use carriers.

I was going to stay out of this debate!

Knabe, I'm all for finding answers to genetic defects!  A simple PM from DL to SWMO to get the samples she is searching for would have been the best way to handle this IMO!  A doctor making a diagnosis known to the public without scientific proof is not Professional IMO!  If it turns out after the fact that this disease might not have  been caused by this sire, who's going to pay CM back for the lost revenue due to spreading rumors without collecting the proper data?  I'm all for finding this info out, let's just be sensetive to the breeders that have spent dollars, blood sweat and tears of promoting their cattle before we taint their cattle without solid proof!

When you put a bull's semen on the market....you open yourself up to an ass kicking. There is no truth in advertising in the club calf world. You have bulls like heatseeker who have a listed 80# or whatever when in reality it was a 140# or what ever the inside people know. If you don't want to be under scrutiny DON'T SELL SEMEN ON YOUR DAMN BULL! If we were in any other business there would be lawsuits against heatseeker and irish whiskey and whatever. Just put on your big girl panties and cowboy up. jmo <hero>

Bold Statement, maybe he was 80 lbs. Ask Brad. I think Sunseeker was out of a first calf heifer sired by heatseeker.

i believe the bull who is listed as 92 pounds and was really a 150 pound csection was heatwave.

I was promoting an ice pick son when the ph thing broke. Rumors flying everywhere of course. I had no confirmed cases in my herd out of my bull. When calling David steen of the Maine ass he would strictly ask you if you were the owner of a bull in question and verify it. He was extremely professional and would not mention another bulls name from submitted samples. I would have expected no different until a test was available and being used to confirm.

Now, after being one of the first people on this board I finally get it - now I understand the rules - who would have thought it would have taken so long, maybe Gidget or Jill of Norma or Brent or Tony or Jason or Juli or somebody else should have made them clear long long long ago

This is not a board for providing information and personal experiences with bulls, unless you are the chosen ones or unless your experience meets the chosen criterion - neither the chosen ones nor the chosen criteria have been publicly identified, hence poor SWMO got caught in the error of her ways by simply stating that she had a calf with spastic paresis sired by Money Man - her bad, surely

It is OK for red to post about a genetic defect in her calf sired by telos bull - she and the bull fit the chosen criteria, and it is OK for chambero to list the sires of his spastic calves – he too is chosen – no one called them libelous, accused them of being unprofessional, said those were innuendos and as far as I know no one sent them nasty emails –  they and others have been chosen - but for the un-chosen it is not OK for anyone (apparently) to say they have in their pasture a calf with spastic paresis sired by Money Man - not only is stating the fact not OK it then becomes a feeding frenzy of personal attacks

It is apparently also not OK to suggest that someone supply samples to Dr Beever on a spastic calf sired by Money Man, it should have (apparently) been sent as a PM - thus no one else would have any idea that he was looking for the mutation or how to submit samples - so my bad for suggesting that SWMO send samples to Dr B (yeah this is deja vu for PHA where the ostriches ruled the world)

THERE IS NO INNUENDO WHEN SWMO OR I SAY SHE HAD A CALF SIRED BY MM WHO HAD SPASTIC PARESIS - it is a fact – it is not unprofessional, filled with innuendo, libel or anything else – it does not imply anything about either the sire or the dam - IT IS SIMPLY THE EXPERIENCE OF INDIVIDUALS - but on this board we cannot take it for what it is -

It is NO different that saying someone had a 140 pound calf sired by Mondo or a 20 pound calf sired by Midgie or a calf with contracted tendons sired by Buckleover - or a calf with 2 head sired by Double or a calf with hydrocephalus sired by 1680 or an albino calf sired by Mt Blanc or a blind calf sired by Sightless or a calf with monkey mouth sired by Jawbone

It is no different that saying you had a great calf sired by Super boy and it is not different that people posting picture of their calves noting the sires – but only the chosen can do that  - the un-chosen are chastised and harassed and belittled and interestingly the good things the un-chosen say about the same of other bulls are ignored.

So when I go out to look at another calf that is sired by the same bull to determine if he has spastic paresis I won’t post the results here – in part because it is not my calf, but more to the point if I post good news nobody pays any attention and if I post bad news well the sky is falling and the lunatic eggs are out in full force on the fringe

I would like to thank everyone who emailed or PM’d me about pedigrees and agreed to supply samples – you all made my day -

I was told today by one of the first posters on this board there are a couple posters now on this board who came across from breedersworld who had a fair hand in making that the nasty negative board it is. Now I'm not referring to anyone one specific. Just telling without any concrete facts.

One persons negative is anothers good information. Guess it just depends on what side of the fence you are standing.

But come on FW, you're just goading people. That's not any better than what you accusing others of. And that is what helped make BW what it has become.

I do not know whom you were refering about coming over from another board. But I for one, was personally invited by red herself. I still have her invite in my mail. I also have her explaination of why she was leaving that board and why she wanted me to "follow her" to this one.  But it wasn't BW. Missed on that one ol'farwest. Care to take bets as to why anyone???? Come on farwest and frostback, you seem to know everything, lets hear your ideas first. I know your dying to "tell us all my business."

Doesn't matter, ya'll continue to be high schoolers and get into your cliches and follow your leader. Baaa Baaaa Baaaa off the cliff we go!!

it is a sad day on steerplanet when we fight like this this board has went to hell since march 21 IMO. some of you guys need to grow up, quit pointing the fingers. the antics in the classifieds (you know) make you guys look like pure idiots, as bad as the idiots on club calves, breeders world, show steers and every where else that has the element of anonymity.you wouldnt be smart asses like that if you were talking to steer jockey in person. some of you guys need to a get your Binky/pacifier/foo foo or WTF its called and stick it in your mouth and go back to 4th grade. I appreciate having one of the best vets in the country on this site and she has been more than willing to answer my questions or any that you have ever asked/posted in these forums and i think you all know that. Remember when nobody knew what PHA was? remember who was on here preaching it? remember who uploaded the PHA calf c-section video to youtube? i can vouch that if it wasn't for Mrs. Kaiser, i would be the proud owner of some PHA affected calves and i bet some of you guys would be too. all this squabbling makes me laugh. kinda like all the school children singling the person out who did everyones homework or something to that extent. I'm only 16 but feel a lot older than most of you guys based on your maturity in posts. want to  (argue)? go back where you came from.

:'( :'( :'( :'( <-------- thats you guys
