Walks alone is TH positive. 

Had one this spring out of a double vision x maine cow and that heifer was big.  picking her up at birth i would guess 120 or more.  So wouldnt be saying they come manageable.  and i have talked to others that had big ones as well.

Well i for one dont want someone cloning a calf i raise and sell.  If you figure out how hard it is to raise a great one and someone just buys it and starts cloning that animal.  Takes alot of the guess work on breeding decisions out of the window. And hurts business when dont have repeat...

From what i have seen the monopolies have great dispositions even out of full flush cows.

I agree 4 to 6 hours after standing heat.  I have had several this year and in the past start standing at noon and bred the following morning and had great luck.  The cow doesnt ovulate for awhile after she is done standing.

Knock on wood but i have had very good luck with  monopoly semen.  Last year was 5 out of 6 and this  year so far 2 out of three. When i flushed to  monopoly last year i was 13 out of 15 eggs fertilized both times.

I agree with not breeding a carrier to another carrier of the same  birth defect.  But i disagree with the statement that the birth defects are going to be short lived.  I had a cow that was 17 years old and just sold her two years ago and she was a carrier of pha.  She originated from out west...

I believe she is a th carrier herself.  So if you flushed her to a th bull then 25 % of the calves would have to be destroyed because they wouldnt be able to get up and nurse or walk.  And if i remember correctly she is an alias out of a heat seeker cow.
