    Kiefer Built Trailers

I have a 16ft aluminum bumper pull. I've been very pleased with it. I really like the slam shut feature on both the center divider and the rear door. The trailer pulls very well also.

    Donkey Breeding Question

I'm wondering if anyone knows if donkeys only stand when in heat or if they are receptive to the Jack at anytime. I dropped my jennet off at another board member's (Mechanic's) place earlier today. I had to leave my trailer. When I came back to pickup my trailer, Mechanic's Jack had already bred...

    PROLAPSED ?

We had problems years ago when my Dad used a coupled of Hereford bulls, we had a whole string of prolapses. I think that a few of them re bred, but I wouldn't keep them as I think it is a heritable trait.

    97 Chevy 1500 (N/C)

I pulled a 16 foot Keifer aluminum bumper pull with the same motor for two years. I got along fine. It would have been nicer to have more motor but I always got where I needed to go. I did get a weight transfer / antisway combo hitch and it made all the difference. I wouldn't haul a bumper pull...

    How is your weather???

Skift of snow on the ground here in Ontario over the weekend. Hard white frost on the ground here this morning. Most of the corn is planted around here and some soys. There is some three leaf corn around that might have froze off (it should grow back). Looks cool and wet for most of the week.

    Vaccinating young calves

I give my calves a 5 way live vaccine and a separate blackleg shot. My vet says that I can vaccinate calves that are one week old or more. My cows get a different live vaccine at the same time.

Just wondering if anyone admits to doing this.......

Most of the blades that I use to cut human hair are used exclusively for that purpose. If I use a cattle blade, I always use Kool Lube which I believe has antiseptic properties. I've been cutting five heads of hair for a few years now and have not given anybody ringworm.

Just wondering if anyone admits to doing this.......

Does anyone ever cut "human hair" with their cattle fitting clippers? I have three sons and cut their hair all the time. My wife or my oldest son cut what little hair I have with mine. I use an Andis Power Groom. The most common blade I use is a 5/8th. I also use a 3/4, 4FC(9.5mm) & 5FC (6.3mm)...

    one crazy coyote

I've had trouble with coyotes this spring. My friend that helps me out around here has shot two. I was checking cows the other night at 3:30 am and found two coyotes eyeing up my calves. I shined my multimillion candle power light on them and they didn't move. The coyotes were just over my...

Need Advice or a Nerve Pill

If the calves are already fully halter broke and just won't go the distance, I'm not sure that a donkey will help. Donkey's are great to get them broke, but they don't necessarily do a great deal of mileage while they do it. I would suggest tying to the back of a hay rack. Have someone drive and...
