    Denver?

We were hoping to go to Denver for our first time and would appreciate recommendations.  I really want to see the display bulls, but The women will probably want other " interesting things to do". What are good hotels, hot spots, eateries, and airlines too.

    turning calves into show winners?

First off I am no expert, but can relate to your circumstances.  Pending when your show is I would let the calves be calves and keep them growing.  Find a good feed store or someone who has a good product.  Your calves seem to already be halter broke so it wouldn't hurt to trim them with the...

    Cloned Show Steers

Isn't this the compliant that was said when ET started???  They have  cloned dairy cattle for awhile and haven't seen that collapse.  Initially the cows milk couldn't be used for human consumption because of FDA regs.  My main concern is that this is a4-H  market animal, is it approved for human...

how do you breed your cattle?

While I do not bred club calves, i Have worked  for guys that produce good show cattle and find that the shotgun blast doesn't pan out as well.  Think of the heritability of certain traits that you want and how to achieve them.  Find a good proven bull, that can provide them, that is marketable...

    hairy heel warts

Wrap the foot in a mix of tetracycline and oxy-tet or la 200. Use the liquid ( oxytet, LA-200) to make a yellow paste on cotten gauze, then vet wrap it on.  The warts are extremely painful so hace a sturdy chute and tie leg up. Make sure the wart is scrubbed clean, preferrablly bleeding.  Leave...

    Treatment for fluid on hocks??

With dairy they use DMSO and predef, mixed together. Rub into skin, apply  cotton, plastic wrap and vet wrap.  Remove after an hour or so it can burn skin so use caution and wear gloves.  No Idea if legal for terminal show but maybe on a heifer.

    Beef Expo Shorthorn Internet

The video parade was alright. The audio didn't match up or was cut off on the lots, some of the animals were not in the video frame most of the time.  Would been really nice to have the camera up close and personal . Not sure how well that would be. The sale portion was nice, although I lost...

    Ringworm

Haven't used that product, but the rogaine was no use and too expensive.  The Sullivan fungus fighter and monistat are the best cures for us. I heard that you can use the cleaner for pierced ears because it is the same as fungus fighter???  I noticed though that we haven't had ringworm for two...

    Blue roan Genetic ??

I understand that when you use a white bull on black cows you can get a blue roan. My question is how to keep the blue roan coloration in the following generations.  Is it just a crap shoot on the coloration when using shorties?? Thanks
